The Vijaya Karnataka Natakotsava came with an interesting premise - the leading Kannada daily asking theatremakers what it takes for Kannada to be relevant and thriving in today's age of globalisation. Does Kannada need a hard-nosed, imposing stance or a fluid, welcoming one? This creative is a composite of actors against scaled-up miniature sets, with actors reacting to pure, complex translations of everyday English phrases that have found their way into Kannada too.
